Kamalayan Kabataan Komunidad

Ito ang "Linangan ng Kamalayan ng mga Kabataan sa Komunidad" ng Philippine Rural Reconstruction Youth Association. Ibinabahagi dito ang mga karanasan ng PRRYA lider sa paghuhubog ng kamalayan ng kapwa kabataan. Pangunahing layunin nito ang ipaalam ang mga isyu ng kabataan sa komunidad lalo na sa mga rural areas ng sa gayon ay matugunan ang kanilang mga pangangailangan. Nakapaloob rin dito ang mga gawain ng PRRYA sa pagsusulong ng isang likas-kayang komunidad.

PRRYA Business Plan Competition 2008

Requirements:
• Complete payment of the annual dues, membership fee and other financial
obligation to the organization
• Submit all chapter reports
• Submit at least one narrative document that to be included in LPE Publication
(provinces with LPE P2 Funded project conducted)

Criteria:
• Adapt guiding principles on social enterprises (profitability, socially
beneficial, re-generative, environmentally neutral)
• One (1) year to pay with 10% interest
• The panel of evaluators are SLDP
• Deadline for submission of business plan is on December 08, 2008
• Only one business plan allowed per province
• Business plan should address the 8 point agenda on LPE

Guidelines/Mechanics:
• All BP and requirements will be submitted to NEC for initial evaluation. NEC will
forward all BP to SLDP for final evaluation then return to NEC before end of
January. NEC will present the result during the NC meeting on February 6 - 8,
2009.

PRRYA

The Philippine Rural Reconstruction Youth Association or PRRYA was initiated by the Philippine Rural Reconstruction Movement, one of the oldest and the biggest non-government organization in the Philippines, part of its movement-building initiatives at the grassroots level. Recruitment went full blast in 1998, with chapters set up in 12 provinces (Albay, Bataan, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Marinduque, Nueva Ecija, Palawan, Quezon, North Cotabato, Baguio, Negros, and Sorsogon). Majority of its membership was school-based, with some chapters organized at the community level. For the past years, the chapters have and continue to undertake projects geared towards conservation and protection of local environments. But while these chapters generally reflected PRRM's VMG, there is still so much room for them to make a definite contribution to other initiatives.

VISION

“A Philippine society where the youth are active participants in sustainable and equitable community and national development efforts”.

PRRYA members as being among the future leaders – “the movers and shakers of Philippine Society”.

MISSION

To develop and empower the Filipino youth and instill in them the spirit of volunteerism towards active participation in community and national development

OBJECTIVES:

1. Promote education rights awareness and activism among the rural youth through creative forms of education and information activities.

2. Initiate projects and participate in the initiatives of socio-civic groups, associations, and other youth organization leading to the development and implementation of “education for all” campaigns and programs at the level of school, community and nation.

3. Engage the government at the local and national level to strengthen programs on education in the school, community and country; to improve the education program, or initiate one; to concretize its pro-poor rhetoric by making this particular development program consistent with all its other youth undertakings.

4. Maximize all avenues for participation to advocate for and unite under a common call for sustainable development.

5. Link up with concerned socio-civic groups, associations and other youth organizations involved in education work.

6. Strengthen and consolidate our organizations, our leadership and our membership for a more vigorous youth movement dedicated to education and other youth concerns that are interlinked.
